Air driven fluid dispensers have become outdated technology. The erratic fluctuation of air supply from compressors continues to result in never ending firefights when it’s obvious what the root cause of the problem is: air pressure. Eliminating air pressure entirely creates a more stable production cell with traceability to the point of dispense.
Here are 3 reasons why AirFree® technology should be the clear choice over air driven fluid dispensers:
Air Driven Dispenser Pipes Are Contaminated
The first step to fluid dispensing is to fill the syringe and to make sure that it is clean and there isn’t any air in it. To achieve this, the syringe must be filled by a professional “Packager” at a premium price or syringe filling equipment must be purchased. Yet, after attaching the syringe to an air driven fluid dispenser all of that care goes out the window!
Air contaminated with moisture and dirt particles is shot into the syringe because the pipe running from the air compressor through the factory to the air dispenser is never going to be completely free of these contaminants. The moisture and air particles can be so small that they go unnoticed by the naked eye.
Air Driven Dispenser Production Rejects Are Common
When the air solenoid of an air driven dispenser opens up, air pressure uncontrollably surges into the syringe and slaps the air piston. This violent slapping occurs every time the air dispenser cycles, which stresses and heats the assembly fluid in the syringe. This can change the bonding properties/chemistry of the fluid resulting in production rejects or worse, defective products.
Air Compressors Are the Largest Cost to Production Facilities and Contribute to Greenhouse Gasses
Air compressors are expensive and strain the electricity grid. A conversion from pneumatic to electric can reduce a carbon footprint and overall costs since electromechanical systems incur lower maintenance and repair costs throughout the lifetime of the system.
It’s true that air driven fluid dispensers are outdated and that AirFree® Technology is much better. To find out why, contact us for more information about this.
